Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in the fall and winter of 1843. Dickens’ father was put in debtor’s prison by a man like Ebenezer Scrooge. Dickens wanted to highlight the greed of the rich that was caused by unchecked capitalism. He also gave us hope that seeing clear evidence (from the three ghosts) is enough to allow us to change how we think and behave … overnight!
We know people can change quickly if they see powerful reality. We each can look for that reality for ourselves in the coming year. That is a positive ending for all of us.
