To have authentic executive presence, you need emotional competence. To have emotional competence, you need to be able to connect with your feelings, as well as those of others.
Think of feelings as a garden hose. If you ignore them, its like tying a knot in the hose. Eventually, it will burst. Better to feel the feelings and “bleed” the emotional hose — before it bleeds you dry!
